Postdoctoral Position in Color Vision
Visual Sciences Center, University of Chicago
A postdoctoral research position in Steve Shevell's laboratory will be
open on July 1. The research program investigates neural mechanisms of color
perception, chromatic adaptation, and color constancy, using psychophysical
experimentation and computational modeling. Excellent laboratory facilities
include optical and high resolution CRT systems. The Visual Sciences Center
is an active collaborative environment that includes several psychophysics
labs.
Applicants should have a strong background in psychophysical research and
some familiarity with computational modeling. Experience with C in a
real-time Mac environment would be a plus. Salary is according to the NIH
scale, and includes many university benefits. The initial appointment is for
two years, normally renewable for third year (exact appointment dates are
flexible).
