Dear Hoover,

Please post the following announcement to CV-Net.

Many thanks,

FELLOWSHIP IN QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS
OF HUMAN FUNCTIONAL BRAIN IMAGING DATA

A fellowship in functional brain imaging is now available in the
Laboratory of Brain and Cognition, in the National Institute of Mental
Health (Bethesda, Maryland, USA). Our group specializes in the
mapping of the human visual system, using positron emission tomography
and functional magnetic resonance imaging scans in brain activation
experiments. This fellowship involves the development,
implementation, and evaluation of methods for the processing and
analysis of multi-volume functional neuroimaging data. It will
require experience in scientific programming in a compiled language
such as C or C++, in a UNIX environment. Though not required,
experience in C-shell and MATLAB scripting would be helpful.
Knowledge of statistics and digital signal processing, especially
linear regression models, linear algebra, and discrete Fourier
methods, is very desirable. Ph.D. or M.D. degree is desirable, but
highly qualified candidates with a Masters degree in a relevant field
are encouraged to apply. Minimum commitment is two years. Previous
post-doctoral experience cannot exceed 4 1/2 years. Starting salary
will be based on previous training and experience. Send curriculum
vitae, transcripts, and a letter of introduction to: James V. Haxby,
Ph.D.; NIH/NIMH/LBC/SFBI; 10 Center Drive, MSC 1366; Bethesda,
Maryland 20892. Phone: 301-435-4925. FAX: 301-402-0921.
