RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE

The Department of Medical Physics & Imaging at Cedars Sinai Medical
Center, Los Angeles (an affiliate of UCLA School of Medicine)
has an opening for a 2 year research assistant position to participate
in an NIH funded project to develop quantitative models to predict
human visual detection of lesions in medical images. These models
are to be used for automated evaluation/optimization of medical image
quality. The job also offers opportunities to work in other projects
including visual psychophysics and modelling of perceptual decisions and
eye movements during visual search, letter identification, temporal vision as
well as opportunities to collaborate with the vision group at NASA Ames
Research Center.
The Department of Medical Physics & Imaging at Cedars Sinai Medical Center is
located in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles CA. It is an interdisciplinary
department working on a variety of projects including quantitative coronary
analysis,
motion analysis and 3-D reconstruction of medical images, development of
radioactive stents for treatment of coronary disease, nuclear medicine, MRI,
medical image perception and human vision.
The vision lab works in close collaboration in a number of projects with the
vision group at NASA Ames research center.
The candidate should have a B.S. degree or be a graduate student
at a Los Angeles based university (UCLA, USC, Caltech, etc.) and ideally
will have programming experience and a background in vision and/or computer
science.
