We (Murray Sherman and John Rinzel) wish to recruit a Postdoctoral Fellow
or Research Associate to participate in a new collaborative project between
our laboratories. The project is aimed at combining computational
neuroscience with conventional physiology and pharmacology to provide a
model for thalamic function during sensory processing. Support for the
position is based on a competitive review of applicants and will be funded
by a new computational neuroscience program beginning jointly at SUNY,
Stony Brook and Cold spring Harbor. Since this position is designed
primarily for the Sherman laboratory to contribute physiological and
pharmacological data to the modeling done in the Rinzel laboratory
(re-locating to NYU, August, 1997), we are looking primarily for an
individual trained in cellular physiology and pharmacology with an interest
in computational neuroscience. The applicant must also have a Ph.D. in a
field related to neuroscience. Interested individuals should send
