Dear Vision Scientist,
Please look at the plan proposed by DRG/NIH for revising the Neuroscience
study sections, which is on the Web:
http://www.drg.nih.gov/review/neuroplan.htm.
One consequence of this plan could be the elimination of the VISA, VISB and
VISC study sections, with the bulk of the grants applications currently
reviewed by them being redirected to two new study sections whose scope
includes all sensory systems (e.g., somatosensation & pain, see under
Integrative and Functional Neuroscience, INF-4 in plan) and all
sensori-motor integration (e.g., spinal reflexes, see INF-5 in plan).
The DRG website offers opportunity for comments by 1 August 1997 at
NEURO@DRGPO.DRG.NIH.GOV.
