POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT REQUIRED:
A postdoctoral research position is available to aid in studies of the
function and microcircuitry of the primate visual cortex. A thorough
knowledge of the mammalian visual system is required and a high level of
skill in one or both of the following areas: 1)neuroanatomical skills
(orthograde and retrograde tracing techniques, immunohistochemistry, using
light and, possibly, electronmicroscopy); 2)single unit neurophysiological
recording in vivo and, possibly, in vitro. Willingness to combine these
approaches and to take advantage of collaborations from other research
groups associated with the laboratory with skills in visual psychophysics,
optical imaging, slice recording and neural modeling will be expected.
