Postdoctoral postion available beginning approximately October 1, 1997 to
study the electrophysiological development of primate visual system.
Projects include development of coding properties of neurons in
(primarily) extrastriate cortical areas focusing on mechanisms of
development of object recognition, motion perception, and binocular
vision. Studies will take place in a unique multidisciplinary research
environment within the Division of Visual Science at the Yerkes Primate
Center. Qualifications include recent PhD in neuroscience or related
field with experience in single-unit recording techniques in vertebrate
CNS. Background in working with neonatal animals, eye position monitoring
techniques, or use of the Datawave experimental control system highly
desirable. Salary will be at current NIH postdoctoral award levels. US
