POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS
Three Positions
(Level A, Non Continuing)
The Centre for Visual Sciences is a university-wide organisation
designed to promote research into vision. Three postdoctoral
fellowships are to be awarded to establish collaborative ventures
between groups with different approaches to vision research. One
postdoctoral fellowship will be awarded to each of three of the
research projects listed below. The selection will be based primarily
on the quality of the applicants. Full descriptions of these

The Centre plans to appoint one postdoctoral fellow to three of the
research projects listed below:
=B7 Machine Vision for Robotic and Biological Systems
=B7 Synaptic Integration in the Visual System: A Whole-Cell
Patch-Clamp Study of Visual Processing in the Mammalian Retina.
=B7 Plasticity in the Visual Cortex: Spatiotemporal Receptive Field
Reorganisation Following Retinal Lesion
=B7 Regulation of Neurotransmitter Release from Ribbon Synapses:
Characterization of the Calcium Channels in Photoreceptor Terminals
=B7 Perceptual Learning: Psychophysics, Computational Modelling, and
Physiology
=B7 Unconscious visual problem-solving
Appointment: Fixed term for a period of 2 years with the possibility
of extension to 3 years.

Salary: $36,942-$44,579 per annum. Level A academics who upon
appointment, hold or during appointment gain, a relevant doctoral
qualification shall be paid a salary no lowerthan $41,659 per annum.
