School of Psychology: Post-doctoral research in visual word recognition.

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research position working with
Tim Jordan on a BBSRC-funded project investigating influences of low-level
visual information in written word recognition.

The successful candidate will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in
Psychology or a related discipline and will be actively involved in all
aspects of the project, including developing and designing experiments.
The ideal candidate will have a good background in cognition, perception or
psychophysics and have programming experience (e.g., in C, Pascal, or
Delphi). However, interested individuals with subsets of these skills
should certainly apply. The post is for 1 year 9 months in the first
instance, starting 1 November 1997, although a later start date will be
considered.

Annual salary will be at the appropriate point of the 1A scale for research
staff (#15,159 - #22,785 per annum).
