RESEARCH OPTOMETRIST
A Research Optometrist position is available immediately at The Ohio State
University College of Optometry. Responsibilities will include development
of experimental protocols, recruitment and testing of subjects, assisting
in the preparation of grant applications and publications, supervision of
students and staff. The appointment is initially for one year, with good
prospects for continuation.
The Ohio State University campus houses a large number of vision and eye
researchers. The campus is unique in that it is the only campus in the
country wherein all health sciences disciplines are represented. The
majority of eye and vision research is conducted in the College of
Optometry which houses an active Graduate Program in Physiological Optics.
The campus's vision researchers hold over ten current National Institutes
of Health and National Science Foundation research grants.
Our group has a very active patient-based research program with a number of
ongoing projects in myopia. We have a well-integrated team of faculty,
biostatisticians, and graduate students and offer a very pleasant working
environment.
Applicants should hold an optometry degree or equivalent experience. Prior
research experience is preferred. Individuals interested in graduate school
