The job advert just circulated on cvnet is slightly out of date. The most
important point is that the press advertising (and the cvnet-posting) were
both delayed by several weeks and the deadline is now Nov 21st. Also the
reference numbers have changed.
There are 6 posts and we can configure the appointments as a mix of high
and low salary posts to suit the best applicants within a certain funding
limit. However the following package has been advertised.
1 Professor (salary 36050 upwards) ref MCM 051
1 Reader (salary 29380-33202) ref MCM 053
2 Lecturers (salary 16045-21016) ref SMM/180
2 teaching Fellows (16045-17something)
This indicates the overall funding limit, but other mixes are possible. For
example lecturer appointments may be made up to a salary ceiling somewhere
in the region of =A329K if we don't appoint a professor.
I am anxious to encourage vision researchers to apply. They would need to
be able to teach Physiological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology or Applied
Psychology to appear attractive to my colleagues.
