Max-Planck PhD studentship available
Max-Planck-Institute
for biological Cybernetics
Tuebingen, Germany
Applications are invited for a Ph.D. studentship investigating cortical
mechanisms of color vision and color constancy. The goal of the
studentship is to psychophysically determine the spatial and temporal
characteristics of color constancy, and to relate these to the
properties of neurons in visual cortex. The planned work includes both
psychophysical and electrophysiological experiments. The successful
applicant will have the opportunity to develop his/her own ideas in
this area as part of an active research group in a well-equipped
laboratory.
We expect a good background in visual perception and some programming
experience. Knowledge of German would be helpful but is by no means
necessary.
Salary is in the range of 23.000 to 27.000 Deutsche Marks, according to the
applicants experience.
Informal enquiries about the post may be made to Dr. Karl Gegenfurtner
(Karl.Gegenfurtner@tuebingen.mpg.de) or Prof. Nikos Logothetis
(Nikos.Logothetis@tuebingen.mpg.de).
Please send applications including a curriculum vitae with the
