St Andrews University

School of Psychology: Research assistant with computing skills.

Applications are invited for a research position providing computational and
experimental input to two projects in visual psychology, one investigating
influences of visual information in written word recognition and another
exploring the role of facial movement in speech perception. Research on
these projects is funded by BBSRC and British Telecom.
The successful candidate will have a PhD (or be close to completion) and
will be actively involved in all aspects of the project. The ideal
candidate will have experience in a research environment and will
demonstrate computing skills including C, Pascal, or Delphi programming,
control of experiments, displays, data acquisition and analysis.
The post is for 1 year 9 months in the first instance, starting 1 December
1997, although a later start date will be considered.

Annual salary will be at the appropriate point of the 1A scale for research
staff (#15,159 - #22,785 per annum).
