The McDonnell-Pew Centre links work on many aspects of brain research
relevant to human cognition in several departments at Oxford. Applications
are invited from individuals with extensive experience of modern computing
techniques, for the following post , for two years in the first instance,
full-time (or part-time, pro rata) on the RS1A scale (=A315,159 - =A322,785=
):=20
COMPUTER OFFICER
To advise on and assist with a wide variety of computing activities in the
Centre. The person appointed to this post will carry the main
responsibility for all computing-related activities in the Centre. The
present facilities include: DEC Alphas, Sun Microsystems and Silicon
Graphics Unix workstations, and numerous PCs using varieties of MS Windows
for both office applications and laboratory research. Most of these
machines are connected internally and to outside departments via Ethernet.=

Involvement in systems management in a distributed environment is an
essential component of the work.
