Dear Dr. Hover,

We are looking to buy some second-hand optical
equipment. We are on a limited budget and also have
concerns with regard to durability of the charts/equipment
that we require.
We are in need of two types of wall charts for
visual acuity. We require a Landolt "C" wall chart. We
also require a Contrast Sensitivity wall chart, such as
the type that was made by VisTech. If a contrast
sensitivity chart is unavailable, a USAF Tri-bar chart
would be acceptable.
We also require a (low-tech) method of measuring
the distance between the centers of our pilot's pupils.
Currently, we have (on loan) a device consisting of a set
of small two-way mirrors and sliding markers that move
along a scale (measured in millimeters). The markers are
aligned with the center of the pupil and the position of
the markers on the scale indicates the inter-pupillary
distance. The device we have was manufactured by
"Rodenstock".
If anyone has any of these items or knows of
companies who might deal in used equipment, we would
appreciate it if you could contact us here at the Flight
Research Lab.

Thank you,

Gregory Craig
