ANNOUNCING A POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN PERCEPTION/ACTION

A 2 year postdoctoral position is available in the Perception/Action
Laboratory, Department of Psychology at Indiana University, Bloomington,
IN. The project is to study visually guided reaching including visual and
haptic perception of shape and egocentric distance. Research will be
performed in 3 settings. The first two entail Virtual Reality technology,
that is, production of graphics on SGI equipment and use of
electromagnetic tracking of head and hand motion. One setting (the CAVE)
consists of four 2.5 m x 2.5 m back projection screens viewed through
stereo goggles. The second setting involves a head mounted display. The
last setting includes a Watsmart system and a computer controlled plotter
used to study reaches to moving targets. Applicants should have
experience both in C and computer graphics programming (the latter
preferably on SGI machines). Applicants should send a CV and letters of
