A Research Associate / Programmer position is available in a newly formed
brain imaging laboratory. The position will involve writing and modifying
programs to assist in analyzing and manipulating structural and functional
MRI data. Research topics will include various areas of cognitive
neuroscience, including sensory perception (visual and auditory), attention
and language processing. Clinical research will include studies of
patients with neurodegenerative disorders or drug and alcohol abuse.
Development of eye movement monitoring for MRI is planned.
This position requires knowledge of batch/on-line programming and skill
in writing and modifying programs in C and C++. Applicants must have at
least 30 hours of college credit in computer related subjects and a minimum
of two years of programming experience. Preferred qualifications include
1) a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and/or signal
processing; 2) some skill in networking of PC, Sun, SGI, Mac and other
devices; and 3) familiarity with Unix and Matlab.
Salary $50K+, depending on experience, with excellent benefits.

The University of Connecticut Health Center is situated in the beautiful
Farmington Valley area of Connecticut. Farmington is within a few hours of
both New York and Boston.
