POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE
CENTER FOR VISUAL SCIENCE
UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER
Major emphasis of this interdisciplinary training is on approaches that
link visual performance to underlying neural mechanisms. Research areas
include: visual and oculomotor development (Richard Aslin); computer
vision, active vision and visuomotor integration (Dana Ballard); cortical
analysis of optic flow (Charles Duffy); processing of image movement in the
visual cortex (Emerson); perceptual orientation in space (Mary Hayhoe);
computational approaches to the study of learning and modularity (Robert
Jacobs), color vision and neuronal coding (Peter Lennie); functional
dissection of spatial and temporal vision (Walt Makous); modularity in
cortical pathways (William Merigan); vestibular and adaptive control of
equilibrium (Gary Paige); cortical substrates of motion perception and
memory (Tatiana Pasternak); optical limits of visual performance (David
Williams). Support is provided by the Training Grant funded by the National
Eye Institute.
ELIGIBILITY: PhD or MD degree. US citizenship or permanent residency is
required.
