Hoover,

Would you post the following query? Thanks.

--Bob Teghtsoonian

For a number of years I have experienced migraine visual displays
(fortunately unaccompanied by pain). An ophthalmologist told me that this
was not unusual but could not refer me to a source offering normative
data. I wonder if anyone out there can suggest a reference? I'm interested
in knowing more about frequency of occurrence, demographics, pathological
correlates (if any) and time course...do they change in duration,
intensity, and frequency.

But I am especially interested to know if there are any good accounts of
the experience itself. I suspect that someone has gathered data on the
phenomenology but I don't know where to look. Many years ago Whitman
Richards did a piece for Scientific American describing his wife's
(I think) migraine displays. I would like to know if there is something
more recent with a more broadly defined data base.
