DEPARTMENT OF VISION SCIENCES

POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN VISION SCIENCES
SALARY: =A316,927 - =A322,785 (Sterling)

The Fellowship is to undertake research in ONE of the following areas:

Visual development: The development of visual perception as measured by
event-related potentials (P3s). Candidates with experience of event-related
potentials and/or visual development in human infants will be preferred.
Supervisor - Dr Daphne McCulloch (D.McCulloch@gcal.ac.uk).

Eye movements: Oculomotor control in schizophrenia: infrared oculography
will be used to study the initiation of smooth pursuit in response to 'gap'
stimuli. Supervisor - Dr Paul Knox (P.Knox@gcal.ac.uk).

Diabetes: Anterior eye measures as predictors of diabetic
retinopathystatus will be investigated. Supervisors - Dr Russell Woods
(R.Woods@gcal.ac.uk) and Professor Michael Doughty.

Ocular surface health: The hierarchy of importance of eye blink, tear
stability and other factors in the health of the ocular surface will be
studied. Supervisor - Professor Michael Doughty (M.Doughty@gcal.ac.uk).

Applicants should have a record of research and have completed, or be in
the process of submitting, a PhD degree in a relevant area of Vision
Science.

The initial appointment is for 2 years and is renewable.
