Faculty Position in Optometry and Vision Sciences

The Physics Department at the Universidade do Minho invites =
applications for a tenure track position in Optometry and/or Vision =
Sciences starting in October, 1998. =
=
The department currently offers an undergraduate degree in Optometry =
with roughly 30 students entering each year, possesses a well-equipped =
teaching laboratory in Optometry and runs an Optometry Clinic for the =
University community. There are currently four faculty members =
specializing in Optometry, with three to four more faculty members =
expected to be hired over the next three years.

The Universidade do Minho is situated in northern Portugal, 50 =
kilometers from Porto, close to both the sea and the mountains. In =
addition to Optometry the department has strong research groups =
working in optics and color vision, atomic and molecular physics,
condensed matter physics, thin films and micro-technologies. More =
