Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate position in laboratory studying
primate visual system.
Position available from July 1998 (but could start later) for 2 years in
the first instance, at the Institute of Ophthalmology. University College
,London
Requirements: Prior experience in neuroanatomical or neurophysiological
research on visual system is required.
Field of work: Investigations of the relationship between anatomical
circuitry and physiological activity in visual regions of primate cerebral
cortex. A variety of approaches are being used, including light and
electron microscopy, unit physiological recording in vivo and cell filling
in vitro, and optical imaging. The laboratories are well equipped and the
work supported by MRC and Wellcome Trust grants. The group has
collaborative interactions with a number of other European and US
laboratories, bringing it expertise in image analysis, theoretical modeling
and visual psychophysics.
