Applications are invited for two research positions for a project funded by
the Wellcome Trust to investigate the interactions between binocular
disparity and relative motion cues in the control of reaching and grasping
movements. Both positions will be available for up to three years,
commencing on 1 September 1998. One appointment will be at the post-doc
level and the second will be eligible to register for a PhD. Starting salary
for both positions will be according to qualifications and experience on the
Wellcome scales. Applicants for the first position should have a higher
degree and ideally should have experience of research in visual psychophysics
and/or computational vision. C programming skills and some technical
experience would be an advantage. For the second post, a good undergraduate
degree in an area related to neuroscience is essential. This position may
focus on developmental dissociations between visual and motor abilities in
children therefore some experience with testing children would be desirable.
Silicon graphics and Apple PPC platforms will be available together with a
MacReflex Motion Analysis System. Applications together with a C.V. and the
