I would be grateful if you would post this to CVNET.
Professor Robert W. Rodieck of the University of Washington is retiring from
vision research. To celebrate his many contributions to the study of visual
pathways, we are organizing a Special Interest Group meeting at this year's
ARVO called "Advances in Parallel Visual Pathways: In Honor of R.W.
Rodieck". The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 12, from 2:00-4:00pm in
room 114 at the Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center (page I-5 in the abstract
book). This SIG is intended as an open forum of short, scientific
presentations concerning visual system cell types, circuitry, and physiology
in honor of Rodieck's retirement. We have planned short talks by
investigators whose own research has been influenced by Rodieck's
scholarship and experiments, and we would like to welcome participation from
attendees who wish to contribute either personal or purely scientific
presentations. The format of the SIG is less formal than a symposium, so we
hope for lively discussion to give Bob a warm retirement send-off.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish to contribute, and I'll
post a final schedule as the meeting approaches.
