Dear Hoover,
Please post the following on CVnet.
Thanks,
V. Montero
NIH-funded postdoctoral position, Department of Physiology, University of
Wisconsin-Madison. Available immediately. To study the role of the thalamic
reticular nucleus (TRN) in attention mechanisms. Experiments are designed
to test the hypothesis that the c-fos detected activation of the visual
segment of the TRN in rats exploring a novel complex environment (see
Neuroscience 76:1061-1081, 1997) is under control of the visual cortex,
and to determine the effects of such activation on geniculo-cortical
transmission. Experience with (and methods to be used) extracellular
recordings in visual system, iontophoresis, immunocytochemistry, image
processing, and tracers/neurotoxins injections highly desirable. Send CV,
summary of research experience, and name of three references to Dr.
