PhD Bursary =96 IMAGE QUALITY ASSESSMENT

The Colour & Imaging Institute at the University of Derby
is pleased to offer a bursary to support a student undertaking
PhD research. This bursary covers all enrolment fees, and also
provides a living allowance of c.=A35,464 per annum.

The research will be in the area of quality assessment of colour
images across multiple media, including print, displays and video
projection. Both psychophysical assessment and instrumental
measurement methods will be employed. This project may also
be linked to the other research work of the Colour & Imaging
Institute in colour appearance modelling and colour management
systems.

We are seeking a student with fluent mathematical and
computational skills, with a good Honours degree in a numerate
discipline, and preferably with some previous experience of
