A research Associate / co -investigator position available immediately to
participate in the design and conduct of innovative research programs in
vision rehabilitation and psychophysics at the Schepens Eye Research
Institute, Harvard Medical School. Join an active lab with multiple
projects developing and testing novel methods to provide electronic aids
for the visually impaired. Apply image processing techniques, basic visual
psychophysics, image understanding, and modern display technologies to the
challenging problem of low vision rehabilitation.
Ph.D. degree or equivalent is required, preferably following completion of
post-doc. Training in vision, psychophysics, or rehabilitation is
preferred. Strong technical skills in computer use, study design, and data
analysis are needed. The ability to work within a team and cooperate with
others is required. Interest in visual psychophysics as it applies to real
world problems, mathematical, engineering, and technological skills are
advantageous.
The position is funded by an NIH grant and involvement in other projects
funded by NASA, DOD, and private industry is possible. Salary is
commensurate with qualifications in the range of 30-40K.
