POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS IN COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCE
at the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition,
Carnegie Mellon University,
are now open in the areas of:
* Spatial vision
* Working memory
in the laboratories of:
* Dr. Marlene Behrmann
* Dr. Carol Colby
* Dr. Carl Olson
Opportunities include:
1. Parallel behavioral studies (in intact and
brain-damaged humans) and single-neuron-
recording studies (in monkeys) of spatial vision
and object recognition. Project supervised
jointly by Drs. Marlene Behrmann and Carl Olson.
2. A single-neuron recording study of spatial
vision in parietal and frontal cortex. Project
supervised by Dr. Carol Colby.
3. A single-neuron recording study of object-
centered spatial processes in frontal and parietal
cortex. Project supervised by Dr. Carl Olson.
4. Single-neuron recording studies of working
memory and other executive processes in
dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. Project
supervised jointly by Drs. Carol Colby and Carl
Olson.
The CNBC Primate Physiology Laboratory is a
state-of-the-art facility housed in the Center for
the Neural Basis of Cognition and operating
under the joint auspices of Carnegie Mellon
University and the University of Pittsburgh. The
surrounding neuroscience community, spanning
the adjacent campuses of the two universities, is
large and varied, with strengths in PET and
fMRI, neuropsychology, computational
neuroscience, neurophsyiology, neuroanatomy
and molecular neurobiology. Information on the
CNBC is available at www.cnbc.cmu.edu.
Applications should include a curriculum vitae
