Group Leader position and 2 doctoral student fellowships in the field of
Visual System Plasticity , Neuroanatomy and Behavior

Several position are available for a research group leader and pre-doctoral
student fellowships in visual system plasticity (restitution) following
brain lesions using behavioral and neuroanatomical techniques. The research
will focus on in vivo imaging of the retina with a CLSM in adult rats
(Nature Medicine 3, 244-247) and behavioral studies in animals with optic
nerve crush injury to study the mechanisms of visual system repair.
Interdisciplinary collaborations in molecular biology, pharmacology (drug
delivery) and neuropsychology of vision (see Nature medicine 4, 1083-1087)
in a newly built and fully equipped laboratory are possible. The lab is
located in the new "Center of Neuroscience Innovation and Technology"
(ZENIT), in which collaboration opportunities with start-up companies
provide for a very exciting research environment as well. The appointment
is initially for 3 years with extension possibility. Salary depends on the
qualifications. German language helpful but not required. Send application
