COLOR PERCEPTION POST-DOC
Applications are invited for an NEI funded post-doctoral associate to
collaborate on experimental and theoretical research in color constancy
(JOSA 1998, pp 1767-1776) and color adaptation in complex scenes (JOSA
1998, pp 23-32; JOSA 1997, pp 2608-2621). The laboratory is well
equipped with Silicon Graphics workstations, Cambridge VSG based stimulus
generators, Macintoshes, digital cameras, spectroradiometers, and symbolic
math, modeling, and image processing software. The research will involve
the development of a novel immersive display. The Research Foundation of
the State University of New York at the College of Optometry provides a
congenial research atmosphere, an excellent library, and interaction with
colleagues in many areas of vision science. The central Manhattan
location facilitates intellectual, cultural and other activities. An
annual salary of $29,000 is available immediately for two years.
A Ph.D. in any field, background in vision research (psychophysics or
physiology), mathematical maturity, and facility with computers are
