Postdoctoral position (1A) Eye movements
Department of Psychology
Royal Holloway University of London
A vacancy exists for a postdoctoral research assistant (1A) to work on a
three- year project funded by the Wellcome Trust entitled 'Crossmodal links
and interactions in saccade target selection'. The project will
investigate the control of eye movements made to visual, auditory and
somatosensory stimuli. A range of behavioural studies are planned which
will involve eye movement recording under crossmodal conditions. Subjects
will be normal human subjects and neurological patients. The post would be
suitable for someone with a PhD in psychology, neuroscience or a related
discipline with an interest in eye movement research. Specific expertise
in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: oculomotor
research, neuropsychology, vision research and computer programming.
The psychology department at Royal Holloway has an active vision group and
received a rating of 5 in the most recent RAE. Research areas within the
group includes: functional imaging (fMRI, MEG), EEG, psychophysics and
oculomotor research. The oculomotor laboratory is well equipped with a
modern video-based eye tracker and work on crossmodal eye movements are
already underway.
