SENSORY SCIENCES

GRADUATE AND POSTDOCTORAL PROGRAMS AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO

Loyola University Chicago has strong programs in the sensory sciences,
including hearing, vision, vestibular systems, olfaction, gustation,
somatosensory systems and the special senses of fish and amphibians.
Graduate degrees in Psychology (M.S. and Ph.D.), Biology (M.S.) and
Neuroscience (M.S., Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D.) can be earned at Loyola and
each department offers an emphasis in areas of sensory science. The
Parmly Hearing Institute is the focus for the study of sensory systems at
Loyola and the Institute supports graduate student stipends, tuition, and
research for students who have an interest in studying sensory systems
within one of these degree-granting programs. In addition, the Parmly
Hearing Institute supports postdoctoral fellowships in sensory sciences,
especially for those interested in perception. Loyola has more than
twenty faculty researchers working in sensory science. The Parmly
Hearing Institute provides a cohesive program for interaction and
collaboration among these faculty and their students. Students can take
advantage of challenging programs of graduate and postdoctoral training
in the sensory sciences integrated and coordinated among the Psychology,
Biology and Neuroscience departments.
