Thanks to those who responded to my inquiry, especially Walt Makous, who
provided the best lead.

An attractive option is the series of automated filter wheel assemblies
offered by CVI Laser Corporation of Albuquerque, NM. They are computer
compatible, stepping-motor driven, and modestly priced at about 1K to $1250
depending on size of apertures. Their series designation is AB300.

The most important limitation seems to be speed. They take from 0.25 to
1.1 sec to change from one position to another. More expensive systems
such as those of Sutter Instruments will go faster for more money.
