Dear CVNet readers:
I am having a hard time finding literature that use the phrase "iceberg
effect". I wonder if anybody could help me and point out specific references.
The "iceberg effect" is a phrase commonly used by people who study area V1,
to denote one or both of the following phenomena
1) that the tuning subthreshold is wider than the tuning above threshold
2) that if you do something to elevate the responses the tuning should get
wider (in the absence of other mechanisms...)
I suspect that this phrase was coined or used by Creutzfeldt but cannot
find it in the papers I have.
Thanks for your help
