Postdoctoral Fellowship in sensory processing in chronic pain and fatigue states.

A three year postdoctoral position is available at the Georgetown Institute
for Cognitive and Computational Sciences. The institute consists of a
variety of laboratories in the field of cognitive neuroscience conducting
animal and human research. Facilities include a state of the art, research
dedicated 1.5 Tesla human MRI system, a 7 Tesla animal system and an

The postdoctoral position is in Guinevere Eden's laboratory, and would involve
a collaborative effort between Dr. Eden and Dr. Daniel Clauw in the Department
of Medicine. Financial support is provided by Department of Defense funding.
The laboratory utilizes behavioural testing and functional magnetic resonance
Imaging (fMRI) to study human sensory processing in health and disease. The
successful candidate will be involved in the study of cognitive and attentional
performance in persons with various chronic pain and fatigue conditions.

Special consideration will be given to candidates with prior experience in
neurophysiology, psychophysiology or cognitive neuroscience. Experience in
neuroimaging would be helpful but not necessary.

Length of Appointment: April 1st, 1999 until March 31st, 2002.
Benefits: Full-time employees receive full benefits.
Salary: beginning at $28,500 per year.

Special consideration will be given to candidates with prior experience with
mainfame, PC and Macintosh computers (statistics and programming skills) and a
background in pyschophysiology or cognitive neurosciences.

Length of Appointment: January 1st, 1999 until December 31st, 2000 or longer.

Salary: $24,000-$26,000 per year (depending upon qualifications).
