Chair and Lectureship in Psychology

Applications are invited for both a Chair and associated Lectureship in
Psychology within the Department of Human Sciences. Candidates active in
any relevant area of the discipline will be welcome although an interest in
developing interdisciplinary links within the department would be valuable.
It is expected that the person appointed to the Chair will be closely
associated with appointing the lectureship. The department has 23 full time
academic staff, 13 externally-funded research staff, and 22 full time
research students. Its grant income is currently £600,000 a year. Its
multidisciplinary character necessitated two submissions at the last UK
Research Assessment Exercise: these were awarded (on a 5-point scale) a "5"
and a "3A" - acknowledging the international stature of the Department's
research. Recently The Quality Assurance Agency's External Subject Review
(formerly Teaching Quality Assessment ) carried out an audit on the
Department: this resulted in an award of the highest possible score (24).
