POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY


A postdoctoral position, beginning September 1, 1999, is available in
the Department of Psychology and Center for Neural Science at New York
University. The position is part of an NEI-funded research project.
There are two research emphases: (1) depth perception, cue combination,
and cue interactions; and (2) surface color and surface shape
perception in realistic, complex scenes. All of the following are
desirable in a candidate: (1) programming skills, (2) a strong
mathematical or natural science background, (3) previous work with
computer-controlled psychophysical experiments, (4) numerical analysis
and modeling experience.

The NYU vision group includes over 20 faculty members spanning 6
departments. It includes research in all areas of visual science
including psychophysics, computational and mathematical modeling and
physiology.

The appointment is initially for one year, renewable if funding permits.
