I would appreciate if this question is posted:
Recently, a friend in the military told me that the interior
of armoured vehicles is being illuminated with blue light
rather than red light for low light, night time scenarios
as blue has less effect on night vision.
Now, this isn't standard dogma to vision folks. I haven't
been in the military but recall seeing red light in the movies.
Does anyone know about this and if it is true? Is there
some sort of human factors issue that has surfaced beyond
my knowledge of the ol' rod/cone stuff?
Thanks
