POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS IN COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCE:
Visual Neurophysiology in Awake, Trained Primates

Two postdoctoral positions are available to study neural
mechanisms of visual perception at Washington University School of
Medicine. Experimental approaches involve single- and multiple-unit
recordings from rhesus monkeys trained to perform visual discrimination
tasks. Electrical microstimulation and reversible inactivation
techniques are also used to establish causal links between neural
activity and behavior. Current research focuses on neural mechanisms of
stereoscopic depth perception, as well as mechanisms of visual feature
integration. For more details, see http://thalamus.wustl.edu. The
laboratory is housed in a state-of-the-art facility that includes several
other primate labs working in systems and behavioral neuroscience. The
successful applicant will join a dynamic research community at Washington
University with strengths in all areas of neuroscience.
Experience in cortical electrophysiology and/or visual
psychophysics is preferred, but not essential. Candidates with a strong
background in other experimental or computational areas will also be
considered. To apply, please send a curriculum vitae and the names of
three references to:
