Research Fellowship in Cognition and Ageing
Applications are invited for a three year Research Fellowship in
Cognition and Ageing, broadly interpreted to include normal changes
in perception, memory, attention, skill etc, and the effects on these
processes of diseases of ageing such as stroke, Alzheimer's and
Parkinson's.
The fellowship is tenable from 1 October 1999, or as soon as possible
thereafter. The salary will be in the range 16,655 - 21,815 GBP per
annum. USS benefits apply.
The person appointed will be independent, but will be expected to
provide a focus for age-related research in the Department through
collaborations with one or more of our research groups. Research
activity and potential are more important than specific research
experience with the elderly. Some assistance with research expenses
will be provided, but the fellow will be encouraged, and helped, to
apply for additional external support.
The Department was graded 5 (5* is the best) in the last Research
Assessment Exercise and is keen to build on this. The Department has
