POST-DOC POSITION AVAILABLE ñ Natural Scenes
Research to focus on human perceptual/cognitive performance with natural
scenes (e.g., visual search, texture-based segmentation, object
identification, detection and contrast gain relations). The project
investigates how complex scenes are processed, what factors/properties in the
scene limit visual performance of different abilities, and how different
imaging methods of nighttime scenes impact upon performance.
Nighttime scenes are obtained with different sensors such as infrared,
image-intensifier, fused multi-sensor images, and scenes rendered in false
color. In addition to spatial properties of daylight and nighttime scenes,
research will involve chromatic, stereoscopic depth, and motion/temporal
aspects of the imagery.
The position is in a very strong vision group in a great environment in the
Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of
Louisville. Position is renewable to three years; NIH pay scale ($24,000 -
28,000); to begin by July 1999. Contact Ed Essock (before or after ARVO
meeting) at eaesso01@athena.louisville.edu or via job listing at ARVO meeting.
