Postdoctoral position to study retinal function in primates at the
University of Houston College of Optometry
********************************************
A two-year postdoctoral position is open immediately for studying retinal
function in primates at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
The project involves identifying and characterizing components of the
primate electroretinogram (flash and multifocal) using both invasive and
noninvasive recording techniques, pharmacological manipulations, and
quantitative modeling. We are studying normal eyes of macaque monkeys, as
well as eyes with experimentally induced pathology. The ideal candidate
would be a recent PhD with a background in visual neuroscience, programming
skills, and some familiarity with quantitative modeling, but all interested
candidates are encouraged to make inquiries. Formal applications should
include a recent CV, and a list of three references. Salary level will be
established according to NEI/HIH guidelines.
