These are newly established full-time permanent posts within the School of Biomedical
Sciences at Coleraine. Development of Vision Science research is a stated objective of
the University's highly selective research strategy. The appointees will be expected to
contribute to the work of the Vision Science Research Group.
The School was awarded a 5-star Grading in the 1996 UK Research Assessment Exercise.
Either postholder will also be expected to contribute to teaching and/or clinical
training of optometry students.
Applicants must possess a Doctorate in Vision Science or a related discipline, and hold
a Professional qualification in Optometry. At least three years experience in Vision
Science research is essential for both positions. Experience of clinical teaching of
students as Optometry undergraduates, or in pre-registration training is required for
Senior Lectureship. For Lectureship posts experience of supervising Optometry students
during clinical training is essential.
Salary: Senior Lectureship: #30496 - #34464 per annum
Lecturer: #16655 - #29048 per annum
