POST-DOCTORAL POSITION
PERCEPTUAL AND SACCADIC DECISIONS DURING SEARCH
The Vision & Image Understanding laboratory at the Department of Medical
Physics & Imaging, Cedars Sinai Medical Center (an affiliate of UCLA
School of Medicine) is currently looking for an enthusiastic
postdoctoral researcher to participate in a project in cooperation with
NASA Ames Research Center investigating perceptual decisions and eye
movements during visual search in symbolic and realistic displays. The
position is for one year (renewable for up to 3 years). The
post-doctoral researcher would be based in Los Angeles with occasional
air-travel to NASA Ames at Moffet Field, California. The successful
candidate should have programming experience, training in psychophysics,
and familiarity with signal detection theory.
Cedars Sinai Medical Center is located in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles,
California. The Department of Medical Physics & Imaging consists of an
interdisciplinary research group investigating topics ranging from
quantitative analysis, motion segmentation and feature tracking of
medical images, intra-coronary radiation treatment of coronary
diseaseand basic and applied human visual psychophysics. The Vision &
Image Understanding laboratory investigates an array of topics including
spatial and temporal visual detection, letter identification, perceptual
and saccadic decisions during search, and medical image perception with
a strong emphasis on computational modeling.
