Postdoctoral Fellowship in Systems Neuroscience

A postdoctoral position is available to study motion perception using a
combination of neurophysiological, psychophysical and computational
approaches. The position is sponsored jointly by Drs. Vincent Ferrera and
Ning Qian in the Center for Neurobiology and Behavior, Columbia University.
Experience with neuronal recording, C-programming (Unix/DOS/Macintosh),
and computational modeling is desirable. Candidates with a background in
Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics who are seeking experience
in experimental Neuroscience are encouraged to apply. The Center for
Neurobiology and Behavior is located on the Health Sciences Campus of
Columbia University in Upper Manhattan. The Center provides excellent
opportunities to interact with other faculty whose interests are in
Computational Neuroscience, Motor Control, and Learning and Memory. The
position is funded by the McDonnell-Pew Program in Cognitive Neuroscience
and will be available August 1, 1999, but the starting date is flexible.
