Purpose

CGIP aims to become the international point of contact for research scientists, engineers and practitionners thoughout the world who work in the field of Color in Graphics and Image Processing. Participants will share the latest theoretical and experimental research, as well as applied developments in the wide area of disciplines encompassed under the heading of Color in Graphics and Image Processing. The question of how to use research in applications will also be an important part of CGIP.

CGIP aims to combine the strengths of the scientific and engineering communities, such as the members of IEEE and IS&T, to expand most effectively, and greater breadth, the opportunity for professional growth in the field of color imaging with.

CGIP aims to create a new cycle of conferences in which the scientific program is truly complementary to those of the International Conference on Image Processing and to the Color Imaging Conference. The future development of color imaging demands that many diverse disciplines work together; including color science, color vision and psychophysics, mathematical and physical models, color image processing, computer graphics, color engineering, color order systems, color applications, and other various color-image related fields. CGIP will provide a unique forum for these disciplines to come together.

The conference will include contributed papers and tutorials on the wide range of topics outlined above. Each paper will be subject to peer review and selected paper will be published in the Proceedings of the conference. The International Program Committee and the Technical Committee will makeall decisions concerning the acceptance of papers. Tutorials will be organizedby experts for experts. Proposal for tutorials from research organizations will be welcomed.

Important dates & Schedule :

First call for papers : 15 May 1999 Paper proposals due : 15 January 2000 Notification of Acceptance : 15 April 2000 Camera-Ready papers due : 30 June 2000

Upon acceptance of summary, authors will be given instructions for the preparation of the full paper, in electronic form, to be published in the conference proceedings and on CD-ROM.

The Conference Registration form will be available by June 2000.

------------------------------

Submission Procedures :

Prospective authors are invited to propose papers for presentation in any of the technical areas listed above. To submit a proposal, prepare a 2-3 page summary of the paper including figures and references.

Send for copies of the paper summary each with a cover sheet stating : (1) paper title, (2) technical area(s), (3) contact author's (3.1) first (personal) name, (3.2) last (family) name, (3.3) address, (3.4) telephone number, (3.5) fax number and (3.6) electronic mail address.

to: CGIP'2000 Secretariat, Laboratoire LIGIV 3, rue Javelin Pagnon - Site GIAT Industries - BP 505 42007 SAINT-ETIENNE CÈdex 01 - FRANCE

Authors of accepted paper will be invited to resubmit a full paper (six double-column pages limit) using LaTeX or Microsoft Word style files (these will be made available from september 1999). Accepted paper will be published in the Proceedings of CGIP'2000. At the conference, papers will be presented as either posters or poduim presentations.

The conference secretariat also welcomes suggestions for tutorial presentations.
