Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Visual and Auditory Processes Branch, Human Research and Engineering
Directorate of the Army Research Laboratory located at Aberdeen Proving
Ground, MD has two openings for full-time researchers in the areas of visual
perception (position 1) and psychoacoustics (position 2). Successful
candidates will be expected to participate in collaborative research on
issues related to: visual performance under degraded conditions, including
night vision (position 1) and spatial auditory perception and auditory
performance under degraded acoustic conditions, including speech
communication (position 2). Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Psychology,
Hearing Sciences, Human Factors or related Engineering field. Applicants
will need to develop a research proposal in conjunction with a sponsor at
ARL. Starting salary is $45,000+ per year and depends on the candidate's
experience. Medical benefits and travel and relocation expenses are also
provided. The term of the initial appointment is one year with the
possibility of a second and third year. Both positions are available
immediately and must begin by October 1, 1999. Aberdeen Proving Ground is
located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay approximately 25 miles north of
