Studentship 0n Active Touch - Autumn 1999
Applications are sought for a 3-year research studentship on Active Touch
leading to a PhD in Cognitive Science at the University of
Birmingham. The research will take place in the interdisciplinary
Sensory Motor Neuroscience group (SyMoN) at the new
Behavioural Brain Science Centre for Perception and Action.
Applicants should have (or be expecting) a good undergraduate
degree (first or upper second) in a
branch of behavioural neuroscience and have practical experience of one
or more of the following; vision, audition, touch, movement control. C-
programming experience and an interest in quantitative modelling would
be an advantage. Students with a physical sciences background may be
considered if they have a Masters degree which includes a practical
component relating to sensory function.
