SPATIAL VISION: SPECIAL ISSUE ON BASIS FUNCTIONS
The Editors of Spatial Vision are pleased to announce that Dr.
Jian Yang is an Invited Editor for a Special Issue on Basis
Functions and their applications in modeling spatial and
temporal aspects of vision, including motion perception. The
emphasis can be on physiological plausibility, psychophysical
modeling, or computational efficiency. Papers may discuss the
use of and limitations of basis functions, including
fundamentals such as completeness, orthogonality,
homogeneity, redundancy, linearity, and the extent to which
any of these properties may be compromised in applications, or
other related issues. Papers typically model real data, in line
with Spatial Vision policy, but purely mathematical or
computational papers will also be considered. The deadline for
submission is Nov. 31, 1999. Papers should be submitted for
processing to the North American Editor, Adam Reeves, at the
Dept. of Psychology, Northeastern University, 360 Huntington
Ave, Boston MA 02115, USA. Correspondence (other than
submissions) should be addressed to Dr. Jian Yang, Human
Factors Lab, Eastman Kodak, 1700 Dewey Ave., Rochester NY
14650-01916, U.S.A. Email JYangRoc@aol.com .
