COLOR PERCEPTION POST-DOC
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral fellowship of up to two years
to collaborate with me on experimental and theoretical research on color
perception in naturalistic 3D scenes. The laboratory is well equipped
with Silicon Graphics workstations, Cambridge VSG 2/3 stimulus generators,
Macintoshes, digital cameras, spectroradiometers, a 27 inch diameter
back-projection hemisphere, and symbolic math, modeling, graphics and
image processing software. Departmental resources include an eye-tracker.
The Research Foundation of the State University of New York at the
College of Optometry provides a congenial research atmosphere, an
excellent library, and interaction with colleagues in many areas of vision
science. The lab at present includes three post-docs and two graduate
students working on object and illuminant color identification, shape from
texture, 3D shape illusions, transparency, motion and color, and
simulation of cortical color neurons. The central Manhattan location
facilitates intellectual,
cultural and other activities. An annual salary of $30,000 is available
beginning immediately, but the starting date is flexible.
A Ph.D. in any field, background in vision research (psychophysics,
computation, or physiology), mathematical maturity, and facility with
computers are required. Candidates should email their CV's as soon as
